FineTooling Technology has the wireless product design and testing capability synchronized with new RF technology. We are familiar to test the RF function through signaling or non-signaling mode through Litepoint, Rod Schwartz and other Radio Communication Test Instruments.

In general, the consuming products such as mobile phones and headsets are directly designed based the RF functional IC from Qualcomm, MTK or other SOC chip manufacturing. The chip are usually based on BGA or even Wafer Level Chip Scale Packaging (WLCSP) packages. The SMT failure rate is cannot be neglected. In this condition, to found SMT defects, to compensate the PCB and components influence related to RF paths, it is generally recommended to use non-signaling mode for complete functional testing to realize comprehensive and calibration of frequency and transmitting power.

In order to avoid the impact of complex production line environment on the test results, we recommend customers to use wireless shielded box for testing. However, in some cases the shielding box may be a significant cost to the project. Finetooling team will work with customers to assess the necessity to the shielding box, as well as the minimum requirements for the shielding effectiveness based on actual test items and sensitivity requirements.

For IOTs products, most customers design their products based on third-party RF modules such as Quectel LTE modules. For such customers, since the module manufacturer has carried out the complete functional test before delivery, we generally recommend only using the spectrum analyzer to detect the TX power and center frequency of specified channels to confirm manufacturing without any damage on modules, which can save the cost of the test instrument, also save the test time.
