Challenges: In order to achieve sufficient test coverage for BMS, tester have to simulate the thermistors function, charging and discharging function for battery CELLs, each battery modules and the total power bus, etc. There are huge volume of test points in the systems. The simulation for of highest voltage bus requires a hundreds of DC voltage to test and linearity calibration to the BMS power manage feature. The safety of the tester operation is also important. The battery simulation modules being developed by FineTooling Technology can only simulate the battery charging /discharging function. Compared with the traditional four-quadrant power supply, it is smaller in and more accurate, which is easy to be integrated into the automatic tester platform.
